Eastham Beaches ~ Cape Cod
Eastham, MA 02642
- Permitted Parking

The Dyer Prince Area in Eastham is a tranquil, secluded coastal spot located on the Cape Cod Bay side, tucked just north of Rock Harbor and the Orleans town line at the end of Dyer Prince Road.
Often considered a true "hidden gem," it offers a much different experience than the more heavily trafficked town beaches.
About the Area
-
The Vibe: Dyer Prince is incredibly peaceful and experiences very low crowds, making it a favorite for those seeking solitude, scenic walks, or a quiet place to watch the boats cruise in and out of Rock Harbor.
-
The Shoreline & Tides: The beach itself is relatively small and borders a saltwater creek (Boat Meadow River/Rock Harbor Creek). At low tide, the water recedes dramatically to expose vast, expansive tidal flats and a gentle "lazy river" flow in the creek bed, which is excellent for exploring, beachcombing, and wading.
-
The Walk-In: Reaching the shoreline requires a short, scenic hike along a winding dirt path lined with seagrass and salt marsh behind the parking lot.
-
Amenities: To preserve its natural, secluded environment, there are no restrooms and no lifeguards on duty.
Parking Information
Because the Dyer Prince Area is a protected, low-impact spot, the parking lot is small and strictly regulated:
-
Sticker-Only Parking: Dyer Prince is a "sticker-only" lot. The town of Eastham does not sell daily parking passes at this location, nor can you use a daily pass purchased at other beaches to park here.
-
Pass Requirements: To park in the lot during the summer season (mid-June through Labor Day), your vehicle must display a valid Town of Eastham Beach Sticker (either a Resident/Taxpayer sticker or a multi-day/seasonal Visitor sticker).
-
Limited Space: The parking lot is very small, holding only about 10 vehicles. Even though it is a quiet spot, the limited number of spaces means it can occasionally fill up during prime low-tide hours or at sunset.
-
Off-Season Access: Like other town lots, parking is free and open to the public without a sticker from the day after Labor Day until mid-June.
